About Sarah!
Hello
My name is Sarah and I am the Celebrant in Merseyside that runs Moments To… so named because I create ceremonies that give you Moments To… remember, celebrate, rejoice…
I am an ex-English teacher, new mum, gardener, box-set watching, sci-fi loving Family and Funeral Celebrant who finds people endlessly fascinating. My job means I get to ask questions and listen to people’s stories and memories, hopes and dreams, challenges and successes. And I am very happy to travel as a Celebrant around Merseyside and beyond to do it.
Writing ceremonies to help people mark important life events is somewhat of a privilege. It’s all about helping people find the words at a time when their emotions can seem overwhelming.
The moment is about you and your family – be they blood relatives or people you have collected over your lifetime.
Why I became a celebrant
With over 15 years of experience teaching English, both in the UK and abroad to various age groups, I wanted the same job satisfaction, but with a lot less marking.
Enter UKSoC (UK’s Society of Celebrants) with its celebrant training programme. Being able to meet and help people express their feelings and give them an opportunity to clarify their ideas makes being a celebrant both a challenging and rewarding role…just like teaching!
Why have a celebrant?
A celebrant ceremony offers you so much more. You have a choice of venues, of rituals and traditions! You can involve family and friends and even pets. And you can take advantage of the talents that these people and animals have, such as singing and dancing and include these in your ceremony.
My job is
- to help make your ceremony happen; to give your emotions words
- to give your ideas clarity
- and to make sure that these moments are memorable for all the best reasons
I am also a licensed PADI scuba-diver – underwater ceremony anyone?
And I am happy to be indoors or out.
On the water, below the waves, and even floating around the sky.
See how those venue ideas just got bigger?
Let’s make this the ceremony people remember for all the best reasons. I will take my lead from you.
Special Moments to Celebrate
With weddings and vow renewals, helping you find the perfect words to express your love is a fantastic challenge.
Involving the WHOLE family in naming ceremonies makes the day extra special for everyone – and I have many ideas to make that happen.
While mixing respect and memorable anecdotes about a loved one who has died is what defines my writing style, for burials, cremations, and celebrations of life.
And if you have other events in your life that need marking – adopting a child, divorce, a “This is Your Life” moment for a birthday or anniversary, get in touch so we can make that happen.
Remember, why be ordinary when you can be unique?
Happy couples & families.
